6/4/12 Internship

On June 4 I worked from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM for a total of seven hours. I have worked for a total of 53 hours at THS this summer. I continued to work on housing photos throughout most of the day on June 4. I also started a project in which I did research and looked through various folders for good theatre photographs. I was doing research and finding photographs for the 2013 THS Conclave trip to New York. Every year THS members get to go on a trip to visit various old theatres around the country, usually focused in a single area or state. This year the THS is going on a trip to visit the Sacramento region. Every year THS sends out a guide they make themselves that details and shows pictures for the theatres they are visiting in order to get members to go on their trip. For the 2013 Conclave trip the THS wanted me to find additional information and photos to be used in the guide they are making. The 2013 Conclave trip will encompass New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. On June 4 I worked primarily on the New York part of the trip. The New York theatres I researched were the: Palace Theatre in Albany, Proctor’s Theatre in Troy, Troy Music Hall in Troy, Cohoes Music Hall in Cohoes, Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady, Capitol Theatre in Rome, Stanley Theatre in Utica, Glimmerglass Opera House in Cooperstown, Park Theatre in Cobleskill, Glove Theatre in Gloversville, and the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie. During my research I went through the individual files for the theatres mentioned above and went through old documents and photographs that I though would be of use to the Conclave guide. The documents and photographs I thought might be useful I photocopied. Below are some photos (not from THS) of the theatres I researched.
